Thieves Like Us
Does anyone know what is up with this?
I've been trying to find info online but no luck.
Looks like the first one was released in 09 and then there were announcements and covers posted of the next two.
But it seems they were never released?
Has anyone heard anything about the completion of the new arch? I keep checking Chynna's blog, but she hasn't said anything.
I've put off buying the single issue because I prefer TPBs, but at this point it looks like that will never happen.

Thieves Like Us
Hi everyone, I get the impression that this place is dead, but in case it's not I thought I'd make a topic for everyone to give their thoughts on the new miniseries. So what did you all think of the first issue? I enjoyed it very much indeed, the style of art seems to have changed a little, less manga influence than before, but I thought the story was hilarious (especially the sequence with Victor, Monkeyboy and their monkey counterparts) and I loved the atmospheric intro with the changing seasons and 'love is blue' playing in the background. I like how every character is now involved in a love triangle or one kind or another, and I really can't wait to see how things develop. I also heard that in this series we are finally going to see the aftermath of the 'Lovecats' story!

New comic in November? How did you find Blue Monday?
Hello! Finally there's a new Blue Monday
issue coming out! I'm pretty excited, anything else coming out by Chynna? Do you usually buy your issues online or at a comic store? I got into Blue Monday kinda late so I end up buying the paperbacks, which I like. Then I preordered the issues at a comic store. I recently moved so now I gotta decide if I should just buy online or visit a store. I"m lazy I suppose..
Here's a silly question I had in my head forever. I always thought Rissa was wearing a fashionable cloak/coat thing...but it's a cape! Okay I guess that's not really a question but more of an observation.
So how did you get into Blue Monday? Whenever someone asks me about a good comic to read that's not super heroes, I always recommend Blue Monday. That's how I learned about it. Has it inspired you do anything? I"m trying to create a comic that I've had in my head since high school *LOL* Current Mood: silly

So I just joined, but it seems no one's posted anything in over a year! Well, I don't know of any news about Blue Monday or Chynna but I *will* advertise the Facebook group I made, the only one I've found about Blue Monday: http://niu.facebook.com/group.php?gid=5165748863. Please join!

I thought we were supposed to be bringing this place to life again? where the hell is everyone? Did we all forget about Blue Monday? I mean I know its been awhile since we've had a new issue but shit its a great comic, and I'd hope some of you are as excited as me to see the Thieves Like Us hit the shelves *coughchynnawemissyoucough* and hell did anyone read Chynna and Ian's new comic Strangetown? I know I did. So let's get this place hoppin' again. This means you!! (and your Mr. Moderator who has disappeared from this Community almost as soon as you took it over!) Current Mood: curious

Hmm, why does everyone call Erin cheap or slutty? There is SOME evidence with the favorite things bit describing her favorite as "bondage." But Alan not only called her "trailer cheap" and brushed her off with "I like girls with a little class" in Absolute Beginners but "pure as the driven snow" in Painted Moon? And if I remember, Bleu was telling her "Unlike some people named Erin, I have some respect for myself and know what modesty is!" and "Big deal, she only shaved her legs! I would have put on a REAL show!" And I think there were a couple things in Lovecats and PM.
She also seems a little bit of possessive of Bleu in spite of her trying to ruin her love life.
But I still think she'll end up with Monkeyboy and can't wait to see what she's got for everyone in Thieves Like Us. Current Mood: curious

Hey fellow fans, tough question
Hey, Im a long time fan of Blue Monday, and a collector of a lot of stuff, comics I like being one of them. So Ive been buying all of the collaborated books as they came out, and are part of my collection of first prints (so yea, the sizes and spines dont match...), but Ive had trouble with Painted Moon. Way back in last spring I was confused to see that it was labeled as 2nd Edition: April 2005, and kind of forgot about it until now. Ive done a little digging as to why this is, but does anyone know any concrete details or reason for this?
Thanks a bunch for listening to my nonsense, I hope you all can help me.

Since this is a new era in blues_world
, one thing was brought to my attention...
... the icon.
Apparently that picture was older than the hills. So I had it replaced. This is a special icon, and it is exclusive. Until now, you could not find this particular drawing of Bleu. And lucky for us, we all have it in icon form.
Feel free to ooooh and ahh at the new official icon.
Update 12/18/2005 5:03PM
Yes, I know Chynna posted it in her journal. But I posted it before she did. So it's still a first for our community.

My name is Michael, and I was given the keys to this place by Kate a few weeks back.
I posted an "experiment" a few weeks back to see how many members read the community. 41 of you commented. So, there is life in here. Albeit, quiet. Traffic has been slow in this community for awhile. Hopefully we can start bringing life into this little old house again.
I've been busy with school and work, and finally the dust has settled. So, now I am happy to announce that I am the new moderator of blues_world
What can I tell you about myself? Well, I am a college student, obviously. The first comic I collected was Fantastic Four
. But around my teens, I lost interest in comics and took up singing and playing guitar. It was Blue Monday
that brought me back into comics.
And, yes, I've had a few runs in "the scene". But am I a scenester? Absolutely not. There are those who will probably rebutt that statement, but I say "no", and I am sticking to it.
My love and devotion to Blue Monday
has brought me to places I never imagined. Those who know me well know what I am talking about. But, for the rest of you, I'll elect to be vague and leave it at that.
I have moderated other communities on LJ, so I am well experienced in this sorta thing. Seldom has there ever been an issue in here, at least to my knowledge. But, in the event that there is one, rest assured that I take every situation seriously, and will rise to the occassion.
Feel free to hit me up with anything. Even just light conversation.
Keep the faith.

Hey its been a long while since i posted
Anyhow I'm back and i have great news friends. My friend and I who are big fans of Blue Monday made a radio play from sections of The Kids Are Alright and its basically Blue trying to win tickets to see Adam Ant. It was a class project for one of my music recording classes. It's only 5 mins long and we were limited to the music we could use, limited voice talent, and it was a rushed process but never the less sounds pretty good. I have it on CD right now if anyone wants a copy of it let me know. I will try to put it on the internet as soon as I figure out how to.
